Peer Action April!

Your time to dive deeper & get creative!

After 2 months of guided learning in Feb & Mar, we invite you to dive deeper into the field in what we refer to as β€˜Peer Action April’. In short, you will have 4 weeks to organize in groups of 2-5 people, either realizing a change project of your choice or embark on a peer learning deep dive, zooming in on a particular topic within the field. This page is meant to guide you through the process & explore the different options.

🎈🎈 What are the Options?

You can choose between 2 pathways:

Propose or join an idea & find a way to realize the project within 4 weeks. It is important that the project has an appropriate scale for the group to realize. Some broad examples include:

  • Presenting your project/startup/idea to NEIII advisors/partners in an interactive way

  • Creating an impact investing guide for individuals in the New England area

  • Prototyping a new product idea or process that you will propose to your employer

  • A resource base that further explores a particular topic from the course

  • Starting to build a utopia around bioregional finance in your bioregion

  • Designing a game to inform others about the flaws of the economic system & how money functions in the world

  • ..Any other idea you'd like to explore with your co-fellows

We leave this option very open for you to create and explore together, using the time to work on it with others in your group. Make sure to ask for feedback from the Fellowship cohort and others from our community.

Please put your idea on the dedicated space on miro & later sign up your group here so we can see who already has a group.

πŸ—£οΈπŸ—£οΈ Getting Some Help

Before you get into your Peer Project and decide what you want to really learn about you might want to consider whom you might want to meet to help you with your work. So while you read the next section think of organizations or leaders in the space you would research or want to learn about as it relates to that learning journey question you are exploring. We encourage you to share those connections & learnings with everyone in the form of Skill Sessions

In May, when we are back together, we’ll have some time when you can share about your project, your learnings, and the skill sessions you organized in April.

πŸ‘¨β€πŸ‘¨β€πŸ‘¦β€πŸ‘¦πŸ‘¨β€πŸ‘¨β€πŸ‘§β€πŸ‘§ What’s the process?

Starting in March, after 4 weeks of diving into the program, you will receive an invitation to start reflecting on a project you’d like to realize or a topic you would like to learn more about. We will gather those ideas & concrete proposals on a Miro board & observe if clusters emerge.

In a second step, we call forward concrete proposals & idea givers, meaning there should be a concrete frame of a project (which might still shift over time) or approach to the peer study group (eg. one of the proposed programs you will go through together). People can then sign up for the emerging options & form a group. Once all groups have taken shape, we will create a communication channel on our community WhatsApp for you. No worries, we will make sure that everyone finds a space :)

Once we're in April, you are invited to self-facilitate, find moments to meet, and decide how you would like to go about the process. Of course, we are available if you have any questions throughout the process. There's a Zoom room available for you to use for your meetings.

How to use the zoom space & open breakouts

πŸ”— Community Zoom Space

Use this zoom link for any call you want to organize

To get into the room, use that link, or you might need to put in the pass code 1111

To be able to open the breakouts, one of you will first have to claim host privileges. Use the host code 135246 in the participant tab after clicking 'claim host' on the bottom. This will let you open up the Breakout Rooms. Be sure to set the breakout rooms to allow participants to choose rooms.

You will be invited to share your results and/or learnings in a practice space early May. The format of the presentation is very flexible & should not take longer than 5 min.

We expect a total time budget of 8-10 h per person for the month of April.

This summary delves into the critical task of quantifying the carbon emission landscape and explores the strategic path towards achieving the 1.5Β°C climate target. It examines the current solutions available to mitigate carbon emissions, highlighting their effectiveness and the significant shortfalls we are currently encountering.
